4. Payment Terms and Conditions

All fees for our services will be communicated at the time of booking, enrollment, quotation, or contract execution. Unless otherwise stated in writing, fees are due in advance of the relevant service period or session.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. By submitting payment information, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and any authorized charges.

Unless otherwise specified:

  • Prices are stated in Canadian dollars (CAD);
  • Applicable taxes, including GST/HST where required, may be added to the stated price;
  • Fees for packages, courses, or multi-session programs may be non-transferable and subject to expiration dates;
  • Late or failed payments may result in suspension of services, rescheduling delays, or cancellation of enrollment;
  • You are responsible for any charges imposed by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

We reserve the right to modify pricing prospectively. Any change in pricing will not affect services already paid for, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations and refunds are subject to the specific service purchased, the timing of cancellation, and any written agreement between you and Maple Coast Portuguese Learning Inc.

Unless a different policy is expressly disclosed in writing, the following general rules apply:

  • Private lessons: A minimum of 24 hours' notice is typically required to cancel or reschedule a session without charge. Missed sessions or cancellations with insufficient notice may be charged in full.
  • Group classes and courses: Enrolment fees and course fees may be non-refundable once the course has commenced, except where required by law or where we expressly approve a refund in writing.
  • Workshops and special events: Refund eligibility may depend on the event terms, venue commitments, and materials prepared in advance.
  • Refund processing: Approved refunds may be issued to the original payment method within a reasonable time, subject to third-party processing timelines.

If we cancel a session, class, or program and do not offer a reasonable rescheduling option, we will provide either a credit or refund for the cancelled portion, as determined by us acting reasonably and in compliance with applicable law.

Where a consumer protection law in Canada provides a mandatory right of cancellation, refund, or cooling-off period, those statutory rights will apply and will not be limited by these Terms.

6. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Maple Coast Portuguese Learning Inc., including its directors, officers, employees, instructors, contractors, and agents, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunities, or interruption of business, arising out of or relating to the use of our services.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the services shall be limited to the amount actually paid by you to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim during the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to liability, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Canadian law.

Our services are educational in nature. We do not provide legal, immigration, financial, or professional advice. Any decisions made based on your participation in our services are your sole responsibility.
